About
Social Responsibility
With a strong commitment to environmental sustainability, supporting the community and helping those less fortunate than us, the Adelaide Event and Exhibition Centre is a responsible member of the Australian business community.
We are owned and managed by the Royal Agricultural & Horticultural Society (RA&HS) – a not-for-profit community organisation that promotes excellence in primary industry through initiatives such as the Royal Adelaide Show and Royal Adelaide Wine Show.
The AEEC – through the RA&HS – supports several community groups, including the Red Cross and Country Women’s Association, and each year provides thousands of free Royal Show tickets to community organisations. Staff also support specific community events and conduct fundraising activities for their preferred charity.
Protecting and preserving our environment is also a strong focus at the Adelaide Event and Exhibition Centre. Following the development of the eco-friendly Goyder Pavilion in 2008, the venue is on-track to becoming energy and water neutral. In fact, the AEEC is home to the largest solar panel installation in Australia and a 3.5-million litre underground water tank which captures stormwater run-off.
The Adelaide Showground is an official Solar Power Station!
